For a large multi-service retailer we provided inputs to the assessment of the opportunity to start a an energy retail business to residential and small business customers.
The project involved multiple activities. Firstly, for each segment of the business value chain we analysed the major technical, financial and regulatory issues and we carried out a thorough risk assessment.
Secondly, we presented the main industrial processes of the energy retail business. For each process we charaterised: inputs and outputs, information flows, interfaces with other processes and interactions with external stakeholders, relative merits of in-house implementation and outsourcing.
Finally, we developed a business plan, reflecting the specific competitive advantages of our client and the expected regulatory developments affecting the Italian energy retailing market.
